Private Medical Question - changing companies

Hi,
I have PM through my employer, we've been with the PM company for about 2 years. My employer is now moving to another PM company in April.
Now my question, I've just been to the doctor and advised I need to see a consultant and I have a referral letter. If I go with the current PM company and we leave them, is further treatment for the same illness covered ? If not will the new PM company see it as an existing complaint and not cover either.
I'm not sure if it's better to try and stick it out until we move and go with the new company or start the treatment now.
Any advice much appreciated.

Most company schemes for larger employers are on a non-underwritten basis and so pre-existing conditions are covered anyway. Ultimately an employer gives it because they want you back on your feet and in work ASAP and so having a scheme that doesnt cover the most likely reasons (ie pre-existing) doesnt really fulfill that purpose0

Thanks for the quick response, that makes sense. I'll check with my employer and ask if it's non-underwritten.0
