Payment pending/retailer saying not received

Options
Debit card payment.

I know this has been discussed a hundred times but I can't find a thread.

I made a payment to Woolworths, completed the transaction and at the end it said "Error no payment taken"
However I have spoke to my bank and they said payment is pending to go to Woolworths.

Woolworths said they dont have the payment contact the bank to release payment.

Who should I press on to take accountablitly for it?
Bad luck breeds bad luck.

Damn I'm doomed.

It might be earmarked to leave your account - but if Woolworths don't claim the funds in 1 -5 working days the funds become available on your account again.
  • Had this some time (years!) ago on an online purchase via a credit card.
The transaction failed at a 3rd party payment processor and the the vendor's system (upon telephoning them) simply said payment was pending - which of course would never be fulfilled as the system had failed part way through.

I just waited a few days until it had become clear that the transaction was never going to happen and then re-did the order totally from scratch....successfully.

What happened to the original order I neither knew or cared - I suppose it would have been cleared off the system automatically as a faulty order - it never appeared in my account as an order number or anything.

I guess it's just stick in limbo until it reverts back to my balance.

I hate how banks just simply shrug there shoulders and say contact the retailer, and then they say contact the bank.

How about I just run round in circles till I faint lol.

Which is why in most cases you should use a credit card for internet transactions not debit cards.
