move to PC gaming, no seriously, consoles are quite often frame per second locked at 30FPS because of hardware restraints so moving to a unlocked FPS on a good quality 120hz monitor could 'cure' it

TBH it's something I'd considered. I'm currently on a MacBook Pro and I've said before that as soon as this bites the dust I'm buying a decent gaming laptop because this and gaming doesn't really mix well.

I can play guitar hero etc, which I find odd because I would have thought the constantly moving colours would have made me ill but it doesn't. Anything other than that knocks me ill. I've tried many many games and all have the effect that within 20 minutes I start to feel clammy and a bit ill. At that point I tend to stop, curse a bit and turn off the PS3 :(

Gaming "motion sickness" is getting more common.

Check the game's settings under "Video" (might need to look for Advanced settings in hte video menu) for a "FOV" (field of view) setting or "Camera Movement" setting, or something like that. It's different in every game (if it's there!)

The way the "camera" moves is what's causing the nausea, by changing the settings you lessen the movement and that seems to stop the feeling of motion sickness.

    but it's trial and error
