Hi There,

I've put some Geraniums out in small pots and half of them seem to have been eaten.

I thought at first it may have been rabbits but I've read that they don't like them, so I'm thinking now it may be birds.

Anyone got any ideas?

Donna

What kind of holes are in them? nibbles round the edges might be vine weevil maybe.
Most geraniums have aromatic leaves that many pesty things don't seem to like.

They are not holes they've been chewed right back to the stems. The leaves are really aromatic thats why I thought it'd put the rabbits off

Gosh! does sound like rabbits then, any other wildlife around? We've never had rabbits, touch wood, but occasionally have deer and they eat anything.

Just loads of birds and loads of Rabbits.

I may try moving them into taller pots and see if that works.

Mice can cause havoc with geraniums. Lost a whiole lot of them once when they chewed right through the stems like a beaver. Not sure the cure except try moving to taller pot, make sure no overhanging leaves etc that they can climb down.

I suppose it could easily be mice as well, I didn't really want to think about that as I'm scared of mice!

Snails have been eating my plants leaving either just a bit of stem or nothing at all.
