Hairline crack to mobile screen

Hi can anyone advise me as to whether I have any rights regarding the following situation.
Having renewed my contract with Vodafone in December I received the phone of my choice the Samsung Galaxy S3. Two weeks ago i noticed what I thought to be a hair on the screen of my mobile only to discover It was actually a hairline crack. Now let me stress this phone has been well looked after and has never been dropped. After contacting Vodafone regarding this matter I was informed the phone was not covered by its warranty as this was physical damage. Again I tried to explain it could not be physical damage as this hairline crack had just randomly appeared. Now I am left with a damaged mobile which I have only had since 26th December unless I pay £150 for Vodafone to fix it.
Thanks
