Raffling a house off!

I heard a while back, and i'm not even sure it was in this country about raffling a house off.
My sister is desperate to sell her house and move to be near her family. This was one idea I had. Has anyone heard of it? Is it allowed? And any advice you can give.

This happens quite a bit. I know of 2 in Northern Ireland which will recently be coming up in a raffle, and they are both owned privately. I'm pretty sure that there are few legal implications over and above the normal contract regs, but they may want to look into having the draw completed by a professional body like a solicitor or accountancy firm. Can be no claims of 'unfair play' then.I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the Board Drunk for this board. As the night wears on, my posts will become worse, with simple spelling mistakes, inane ramblings, and a blatant disregard for the truth. I have no authority to do anything, so there's no point asking or telling me. If you see me past midnight, please tell me to get my coat and order me a taxi.

I remember one online not long back. Tickets were £5 each. There was also a reserve, so that if the value of the tickets didn't meet the value of the house + costs for setting up the raffle, the prize would be the value of the tickets - costs.
If that makes sense. What can I say, its Friday.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Your sister should look at the reasons why her house isnt selling. It might be more sensible to reduce the price rather than go to the expense of setting up a raffle. If not enough tickets were bought then her house would still be unsold and she would have all the costs to pay. You could always consider an auction.0
