Hi
ive recently started using BBC I-player on the Wii, but i only get as far as a few minutes into any program and i get the typical insufficient bandwidth message and cant really go any further.
the thing is, it works perfectly fine on the laptop so i dont understand why it doesnt work on the wii? i have the latest software on the wii.
im with BT, and i have their unlimited broadband option ( so useage is uncapped)...my download speed the last time i checked was around 30 mbps, and upload is 16mbps which i think is average?
Can some one help? whats the issue> why is it fine on the laptop and not the Wii?
Thanks

How are you connecting each device? One by ethernet and one by wi-fi? If the Wii is on wi-fi, I'd suspect a wi-fi issue-start by changing the wireless channel.
Unless you are on fibre, you won't be getting 30Mbps download on an ADSL line. The UK average is more like 4-5Mbps.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
hi, both laptop and wii are using wireless. Bt upgraded my line to fibre a little while ago. i have changed wireless channels in the past and have never once noticed any change on any channel!!! so its currently on the default channel.0

If the laptop is nearer the router than the Wii then that may be the cause, because the wireless signal is weaker for the Wii. Try bringing it nearer to the router, or retest with ethernet. Homeplugs may be the best solution.
If it's running on the default BT channel, then you've probably got several neighbouring routers on the same channel as well which are clashing. Use InSSIDer to find a quieter channel. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
