Nationwide info missing

I've applied for a nationwide a account and today received a form asking for signature and proof of ID. It says to refer to "the enclosed list of acceptable proof" but there wasn't one in the envelope. Does anyone know what's on the list? Is it ID only or proof of address too?

I also received the signature form today, together with a request for proof of ID (despite already holding several accounts with Nationwide )
I duly went into branch with the signed form, my passport, utilities bills etc. I was told I was already 'identified on the system' and nothing could be added. I'd just have to wait up to 2 weeks for the account to be opened. I'm going to send a secure message for confirmation (was foiled earlier when the website was apparently down - for me anyway)
Still, at least I know my application has been approved0 -
Their admin systems are definitely over the floor.
I received the 4th (!!) welcome pack now for the same FlexDirect. Didn't bother sending the signed form back this time.
I got a letter (dated 11/03/13) confirming my FlexPlus was open and insurances are in place. But I am not due to get upgraded until the 16th, and the insurance folks can't register me because they haven't yet received my account details from Nationwide. CS confirmed today my FlexPlus isn't open yet. Which bit of Nationwide is right?0 -
Thanks for the info. I am a little concerned as when I got the earlier letter saying my account was open, I went ahead and transferred £100 in...
Ah well, I'm sure it will all straighten out :think:0 -

I didn't get anything which could be remotely described as a Welcome Pack just the signature form & request for (apparently unnecessary) 'proof of identification'. Maybe you've got my pack

Strange thing is I opened two accounts - one solo and one joint. The solo one appears to have opened without proof of ID but the joint one they want proof. Maybe that's normal. Feel a bit anxious about sending off documents if they are so disorganised.0

I wasn't meant to create any anxieties - - the Nationwide banking systems are just fine. I have held accounts with Nationwide for well over a decade and nothing untoward ever happened with my money. I am very confident that this will continue to be the case.
It's just the reams of stuff they send out on account opening that they need to get a grip on. And they have the usual problem with CS - - people telling you things you cannot necessarily rely on. Sadly, that seems to be "mandatory" for CS, whichever company you deal with.0 -
Same thing when I opened the Britannia 3% fixed. Letter said return opening cheque with list of id required (from website. no details in letter). Rang them up - Oh! no id required, electronically verified already. Then why not send out a letter for that circumstance with clear instructions....?0

Went into the branch today. They checked on system and I didn't need to confirm my ID after all but they were awaiting our signatures. I was glad to see the £100 in my solo account - phew!0
