** Grrrrr . . . Doctors!!! **

Needed to organize a repeat prescription so rang to speak to my practice's pharmacy at Brampton Medical Practice early this afternoon.

An answerphone message said the practice was unavailable until 5pm today because of "staff training". In the event of needing an emergency doctor, then blah blah blah, otherwise, please ring again after five.

Rang back shortly after 5pm when this NHS practice was once again in touch with the wider world but the line was, predictably, busy. Rang again at 5.25pm and was told by a recorded voice:

'Please note: if you are wishing to book a repeat prescription, this service operates between 9am and 4.30pm only.'

What is it with disorganization as screwball as this: aren't we paying General Practitioners enough???

I shall ring again tomorrow. Maybe ask for double the medication now, seeing as it has been prescribed for . . . blood pressure.

Grrrrrrrrr. . . :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    At our local one you just drop a slip into a box and 2 days later you pick it up. Don't they run something like this ?

    Apparently, yes. I hadn't realised.

    But trying to do so via the practice's web page took me to a registration process involving inputting an access code and ID which I needed to obtain from the practice but which I couldn't get from the practice because it was practising how to run a practice today and therefore unavailable for any practical benefit for folks such as me.

    No matter. I feel better now. A herbal remedy involving juniper berries and tonic water and ice is proving to be so superior to the NHS medication I was going to re-order that I've already had two repeat prescriptions of this and am about to self-dispense a third. :)

    Add a slice of lemon or lime to your herbal remedy and boost your vitamin C levels while you're at it.

    And I am impressed at the lucidity and eloquence of your post, given that you've had so much medication:rotfl:

    Why block up their phone line?

    I just email mine and it's ready within 24 hours.

    for repeat prescriptions - register with your local pharmacy and ring them up and get them to fax through the prescription to the surgery. they will normally pick it up 2 days later and dispense it to you when you turn up.

    I'm registered with my local pharmacy but I still have to call the surgery and say that I pick up my medication from the pharmacy. someone from the pharmacy goes to the surery daily to collect the prescriptions.
