So to clarify.. You can set up DD (which santander call funding mandates) online for the E-Saver account, and Halifax are now recognising them as Direct Debits, so everything is good?

Im on Santander E-Banking now (finally got everything through!)

Is the DD page to setup a direct debit called "Pull money in from an external account" under Payments and Transfers?

No. You have to fill in a Direct Debit form and post it to them. When they've done it, it will be visible on the "Pull money..." screen you've described.

See this thread - first post

There's a link to download the DD form from that post.

Cheers. Do I need to stamp when I send them off the envelope to that address or is it free post? Will need to pop to post office to get some stamps if not.

The address on the form does not look like a freepost address, so I used a stamp. It was a second class stamp on a DL size envelope. I folded the form in 3 to get it in the envelope. I recommend self-seal envelopes 'cos you don't have to lick them.

Anything else you need to know????? ;)

When posting the letter, does it matter if the address is facing up or facing down? I heard if its facing up, it gets there quicker?
