Mining survey when we bought this property four years ago was clear of any mining works near us but revealed a mining adit approximately 100 meters from us in the middle of the road.
Suddenly last November the road started to sink in that area, eventually the council had to pour half a ton of concrete into it to seal it, you wouldn't want that on or near your property.0 -
IIRC a Coal Mining Search only reveals shafts, adits and entries within 20m of the property. These only take on real significance to the valuer/insurer when within 5m.I am a mortgage broker. Here in Cornwall because there are so many old tin mining workings the survey reveals any workings in quite a large area from any property, if there are any within twenty metres then a more detailed plan is sent.
