Vent about Royal mail delivery

I am wondering if I have to complain but not sure if it's a right thing to do. I have been at home all day today and came downstairs to collect my mails to find out there was an attempted mail delivery. They left me a card saying I have to go and collect some packet at my local delivery office. I live in the block of flats and have a intercom system in place, checked if my intercom phone is working and it was fine. I am annoying that the postman did not ring me and just left a note about missing delivery. Now I have to make a special trip to my local delivery office! What should I do? thanks

You can go on-line to select a new day for delivery, I'd personally do that.0 -
I would go and collect it, or call them arrange to re delivery to you tomorrow, these are the only options open to you.0

I know that I have to go and collect it. I would like to know if I have to complain that the postman did not bother to check if I am in and just left a note about missing delivery?0 -

Dont bother complaining, it will most probably fall on deaf ears, and you will just be wasting your energy and time.
Dont give yourself stress, just collect it and put it down as experience.0 -

well lets start with the card
does it have todays date on it?
does it have a time?
are you talking about flats with letterboxes at the main entrance?0 -
Postie didn't bother bringing the parcel, is it a little bulky or heavy? Yes send a comment, if you arrange redelivery it's an all day slot.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I sometimes just pay for it to be redelivered to the nearest post office, a lot nearer than going to collect it and it means I don't have to wait in all day.

Yes, it has todays date on it but no time.
Yes, the flats with letterboxes at the main entrance.
As long as your buzzer shows clearly what flat it relates to(seems obvious but you would be amazed at the state of some set ups) then I would put a complaint in.
I used to live in a flat like yours before working for RM(I eBay'd fulltime) and my postie/driver used to hate me :rotfl:0 -
I had exactly the same experience. I called to complain, because I had waited in. I was contacted to say that the postman insisted nobody had answered the intercom. I sent back a polite email pointing out that due to the piercing ring of my intercom this could only have been the case if I had temporarily become seriously deaf or abducted by aliens. I received an apology and the customary book of stamps
Oh and it was re-delivered two days later and I can only assume it was the same postman as it was hurled at me the second I opened the door!
