    your post is slightly confusing

so you didnt live in the property in the dates in question? do you know the person they are looking for?

if not, forget about it, it's nothing to do with you.

maybe a child was assualted in the house by a person that they knew only by a first name.

the police won't give you much info, why should they? by the sounds of it they are looking for the person who lived there before you.

again, dont worry about it, it's nothing to do with you.

Well they're certainly arresting and charging enough celebrities over child abuse that occurred 20, 30, 40 years ago.

If it was only reported recently, of course they would only just be investigating it.

This incident happened in 2009/2010. You moved in late 2010. The people that live with you do not have the name that the police are looking for - if you have told them the names of all the people that you know who lived in your house for as long as you know, then whatever investigation is going on has nothing to do with you - so stop worrying!

The police can get in touch with the previous occupants' solicitor if they want to.

Did you check that the number you called is a police station number?
