Interested to hear what your hotel was like OP.

We had one of these free nights away in a hotel, the same deal with the tsb..the hotel was a total dump..freezing cold, no tele in the hotel room, the food in the carvery resturant was vile, I could have cooked better at home

It was actually ok, I was dreading them handing over the key to the room I'd heard such horrible things about! But it was fine, not the best hotel I've stayed in but not the worst either. The bed was really creaky and the walls were really thin but not bad enough for me to complain. Also the tv had bad signal but I didn't mind so much cos I didn't go to the hotel to watch tv! haha

It was a nice trip away though, and to the person who asked why I booked it if the reviews were bad, there were a limited number of hotels eligible that were nearby and we wanted to keep travel costs down (true money savers!) so chose Leamington Spa as it's fairly close and my boyfriend lived there while he was at Warwick Uni so he was able to navigate the town and show me the sights (mostly pubs). The hotel was the only one that was available there so picked it based on that. Didn't look at the reviews until the day before we went.

Oh just do relax and enjoy your break for goodness sake! :D;)

We once stayed in a Naples hotel that barely had a wall on one side of the room; now that was draughty.
