Will non-payment of a PCN lead to a CCJ?

Hi all,
Quick question. Will non-payment of a PCN lead to a CCJ or possibly effect my credit rating?

I received a few PCNs (legitimate ones from local councils) through the post for my vehicle, but i was not using it at the time, and the 'friend' that was using the car no longer lives in the country.

I can't afford to pay them, and I don't want to pay them. What are the potential pitfalls of not doing so.

Thanks.

If you dont pay them and you ignore them you can expect to get bailiffs knocking on your door.
    Best to appeal them.

Go to pepipoo.com for this as the owner /RK is responsible. On the back are terms which may give you a let out. Did you know the other person was using the vehicle? Was it with your consent(the truth, I'm not suggesting a get out of jail by lieing)

Yes, the 'friend' was authorised to use it but, we also agreed that any costs (such as insurance), or fines would be his responsibility. He assures me that he was insured to drive the vehicle, and I have seen documents to this effect.

I appreciate this is a very bad situation, and I must take some of the responsibility for trusting this guy, but if you have any further advice, I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks.

Yes. Get a written statement, preferably sworn under oath, from your friend admitting guilt.

    Thanks for your help.

How would I go about organising such a statement?
Who should I present it to?

I'm sorry you are in this situation, but liability for penalty charge notices are the registered keeper alone, that is why most hire companies simply pay the penalty as a matter of course. You really need the help off the guys over on https://www.pepipoo.com if anyone can help you they can, have you been there already ?

You also need to let them know exactly the details of each penalty, preferably scans of the paperwork scrubbed of personal information. Don't bury your head in the sand on this as this can't be ignored.

In regards to any private parking tickets, just ignore them as it highly unlikely to go beyond junk mail.

And by the way non payment of penalty charge notices will not lead to a ccj as its not handled by county courts, though I have heard of one or two situations where they have, but can't think what they were right now.
