monitor keeps turning its self off

or on to stand by mode and won't come back on unless you restart computer. any ideas

It sounds like either a loose wire causing it to actually turn off, or if you have been trying to change your resolution, you may have chosen one that is too high for you monitor to display.
Try starting in safe mode and seeing if it actually stays on.0 -
just be on. and a black screen came on to say restore to a earlier point when pc was running ok. but turned its self off again before i could do it and now won't come back on. the pc tower light is on but monitor is still on stand by0
