Talk about putting it back slightly. Mind you, I could have been in trouble a couple of years back because I didn't have a bed when I moved into my new house...and had to wait 4-8 weeks for it. I now appreciate how hard floors can be even with carpets.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

we just had similar problems with Harveys..
wrote them a nice little letter, quoting Time is of the Essence etc.. (got it from trading standars website), gave them 10 days to deliver or they would be in breach of contract.. and what would you know..
sudenly some one found our sofa.. they had it all along...lol..
10 days following my letter we were sitting on a nice new bit of funiture for the kids to ruin....
Put your complaint in writing.. it gets them moving..

CONTRACT. If the contract states that delivery is to be made at a certain time, or even if this was a requirement that was agreed at the point of sale it forms part of the contract. Like Raggie said l would telephone their customer services get the name of the customer service manager and write to them explaining this and that you are unhappy with the sutuation, you could even set them a deadline of say 14 or 28 days to deliver.
You could also try and push for compensation, say a percentage refund, free delivery, extra set of covers or cushions, maybe an upgrade of some kind, or extra furniture like a coffe table.
Likely they will fob you off, you just have to keep trying. Start with head of customer services and work your way upto Director. Always get thier names, if the c/s tel people won't give them to you find them on the internet. HQ addresses can be found on this site:

Trading standards help sheet give you more information about your statuary rights (all the terms and conditions involed in your contract are not allowed to affect your consumer rights, and probably even say they don't.
