Kia Rio best price?

Hi Guys.

I currently have a Mini Cooper S which I love but we are starting a family soon and I also use my car daily as I'm a district nurse. The mini is just so expensive to run and drinks petrol.

We are looking for a car that does really good mpg and tax is cheap. We have looked at a few and have got it down to a Kia Rio 2 5dr. What do people think to this car? The dealer has this at £10,999 brand new and for nearly new (12) £9,999 (8,000 miles) We woud like to part exchange my car and think mines worth around £4500. What price do you think we could get it down too? Also I've read on here about car brokers what are they and how do they work?

Oh and also we will be a cash buyer.

Hope someone can help. Thank you.

We bought a Kia through Autoebid (.co.uk) and saved a packet.

It's a reverse auction. You state the max price you are willing to pay and dealers try to outbid each other by offering you the lowest price. There is no obligation to buy.

A cash buyer will have no part-ex.

Your part ex maybe just a hassle for the dealer.

What year is the mini though? 2008?

    Mileage?

£1000 off for a year old and 8000 miles isnt enough.

    New Kia £9000...

  • Sorry not sure what you mean? The car dealer won't part exchange my car?

It's an 05 plate and has done 48,000 miles.

The Kia we are looking at is a 2 spec but yes I wouldn't pay only £1000 less than a brand new car for a car that's done 8,000 miles. I'm pretty sure we will go for the new car but just wondering how much people think we can haggle them down to. What's realistic?

I will sell my car myself if needed.

2005 mini wont be worth £4500 to them. Try £1000 less.

Cash buyers are people with cash and no exchange. Do they have cars like yours on their forecourt? If not then its not something they will resell for a big profit.

Either out the back door to a trader that buys their part echanges or off to auction. Its a might or might not make a profit car.

Sometimes cash and no part exchange gives you more haggling power, Especially if the car its not something they want.

    2 spec 2012 / 12 plate 5980 miles... £9000

I would expect to knock money off that £9000 also. With the prices you quoted they can afford to give you more on your part ex. But thats only because the car is £1000 overpriced.

At the end of the day its how much do you have to pay on top of your car. Do you get £4500 part ex and pay £5500 cash Or do you get £3500 part ex and pay £5500 cash?

I only had a quick search for prices so read the full descriptions.

  • We were hoping to be able to get the new Kia Rio 2 for £6,000 cash with my car Part exchange. Do you think this is realistic?

If not then maybe I will sell my car myself and try to get best price and go in with cash to Kia.

I'm going tomorrow to kia anyway so guess I will see what they say.

    Thanks for your help.
