Adding card holder impact on credit rating?

I currently have a Santander 123 credit card, which I try to put all of the household fuel on, to make the most of the 3% cashback. I usually give my other half the card when he's about to fill up, as it wouldn't be worth having two cards and pay two monthly fees, but it's not always that convenient, if we both need fuel at the same time, and then he ends up using another card and not getting the cashback.
I was thinking about getting him a card on my account, but I know that his credit score isn't exactly the best. (He was recently declined for a Capital One Classic Extra card, which is supposedly easy to get, but he does have an Aqua card, and a granite card, which he has held for about a year)
I'm just wondering if I add him as a second card holder, will that bring my credit rating down?
Grateful for your advice!

Hold on - is that the case?
I have had a second card holder on my Lloyds account for two years and its never shown on my credit file any type of financial association.0 -

Maybe adding a second card holder doesn't create an Associate then.0 -
Adding a second card holder doesn't affect you IIRC as the main applicant/account holder takes responsibility for the account.
Applying for a joint account does impact by creating a financial link between two people.0 -

For Credit Cards, no. You remain the sole account holder and 100% liable for all spending across all accounts. As it is soley in your name there is no cross contamination of scores from a financial association. A few do credit scores on the secondary card holder before issuing but most simply do KYC/ anti fraud/ moneylaundering ones.
With Charge Cards then it can be, the American Express chargecards hold all cardholders fully liable for all spending0 -

Even then though that doesn't show on your credit profile as financial association0 -
