Contact lense pricing - Unfair?

There ought to be a way to get the contact lense manufacturers for price fixing. How can it cost 10 times as much for a pair of monthly disposable contact lenses compared to the daily disposable variety. Even accounting for the fact that possibly dailies are manufactured in larger quantities than monthlies I fail to see the reason for the discrepancy in price. The after-care provided by opticians for both types in my experiece is exactly the same.

Contact lenses are essential for the every day life of a great deal of people and they should not be extorted.

If the manufactures of football kits can be be held to account (by the Government?) with their pricing, then surely there must be an equally valid case for contact lenses, if not more so.

I believe that manufactures unfairly maintain the inflated price of monthly contact lenses.

Don't know anything about contacts but would guess that to last for a month the lenses would have to be made to much better tolerances and with better materials.

Even if it is 10x as much, isn't that still only a third of buying dailys everyday for 30 days?

I always thought it was cheaper to use monthlies rather than dailies??

tell me about it my boyfriend pays £12 a month to specsavers for his that inslcudes lenses, solution and postage as they get delivered every 3 months!
