The Dating Game

Hi All,
So I am back in the dating game so to speak. After splitting with my fiancee last year I have decided it's time to get out there and start meeting people. The problem is I haven't been on a date in about 8 years!
So, last night I had my second date with a nice guy, but my problem comes in at the end of the night! How much of a kiss is expected?!?! First evening I dived out the way and went for a peck on the cheek, last night it was a quick peck on the lips. But at what point are you meant to go for a full blown snog?!!!
Speaking with one of my guy friends, he just said guys will go for whatever they can get! The chap last night did seem a bit disappointed when I ran off again :rotfl:
Experienced daters please?

Whenever you feel like it!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

Think with my OH it was full-on snog after 20 minutes. I was usually rather more reserved - honest!

I dont think theres a time frame or a list of rules to follow concerning the first kiss. Did you want to kiss him? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

You are dating for your benefit, nobody else's. Your rules, just do what makes you comfortable0

when you think the moment is right and you are ready.
I think he is still on the hook so you have time to think.0 -
3 second rule, if the kiss on the lips lingers then go for a bit of tongue action.
Geddin there.0 -
I'd say first date is a bit presumtious(sp), especially if it's a dating site thing. Second date you've presumably gone because you liked the first so a kiss wouldn't be out of the realms of probability.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
I agree with others that there isn't a time limit, if you want a full on snog go for it. In an ideal world, for me...on a good first date, end with a peck on the cheek or quick peck on the lips, second date - lingering but tongue-less kiss at the end of second date then part-way through the third date, full on tongue. However, in practice this doesn't always work according to plan!
I tend to let him lead anyway. I wouldn't do tongues on the first date but after that, IF I am up for it, whenever he tries to put his tongue in he can.
Don't stress about it!0 -
There's no time limit and there are certainly no rules. Do what you feel like, when you feel like it, and don't do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable - it's about having fun, not stressing out!"There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. When it comes to history, it will be the people who broke the law for freedom that will be remembered and honoured." --Rt. Hon. Tony Benn0

I agree, I don't think there are any set rules, it depends on what you feel comfortable with. Personally I kissed my OH properly on our first date, but I knew even then that I liked him a lot.
The only minor point I would say if I'd been on maybe three dates with someone and there hadn't at least been a lingering kiss, not necessarily tongues, then I'd be wondering if they did find me attractive or if they were more into the friends idea. Perhaps that's just me but if you are wanting to hold off a bit then maybe try and find a way to let the guy know you're still interested in 'that' way (if you are of course!)0
