Hi all, for one reason or another I haven't posted in quite a while. I am now on a course at our HQ which is local so no shifts and no commute for the majority of two weeks.

    Money saving activities have included:

WALKING ........yes you read that right, WALKING to work and back to save on fuel and get fit, had a fitness test this week and I am not currently where I want to be due to my back injury.

Lunch provided by work whilst on a course so FREE, and water taken in from home also

Breakfast and dinner have been from stores, I am getting to the point where I need to go grocery shopping however I am putting it off as long as possible in order to use up as much as what we have as I can. Last night I batch cooked a risotto and a korma and made chocolate brownies all using ingredients I had in the house and have frozen portions. Thats tonights dinner sorted.

I have even fed the cats a combination of leftover tuna steak and dry food as I have run out off wet pouches. They have looked at me in disgust and then conceded when they realised I wasn't giving in !

Today I spent 25p on a hot drink from a vending machine but other than that the whole week has been a NSD.

I have had two enquiries regarding the room I rent out, one will bring in more money but the other would be better from a professional point of view.

Expecting CSA money tomorrow so watch this space.

Hope you all had a lovely Thursday, my brain is fried after an exam today so going to watch TV in bed.

    Much love

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hello

Better late than never posting today.

    1. Checked banking, all as expected. But DH has been taking out more from the cash machine than I am comfortable with. Need to tackle him on this one as this was an old habit of his, frittering....
    2. Took snacks when collecting DS from nursery so no need to go into a shop.
    3. Had lovely poached eggs for dinner tonight from the house.

Think thats it. Working till sunday as per usual, so no real time for spending this weekend coming. Good!

We have 10 days till OH gets paid again. So starting on the countdown...

Bobarella - I know what you mean about all the little visits to cashpoints adding up. That's been a big problem for us in the past, as it's easy to do & get into bad habits. What's worked for us, is to agree an amount of cash 'spends' each per month....it's currently £50 each per month, but it can be set at more than this if it's a more flush month. Mr foxgloves does get the odd extra bit of money from the cashpoint for work parking, but I don't mind that, as he gets it back on his travel expenses later. We use the £50 cash (or however much it is) for whatever we want, but when it's gone, it's gone. It really concentrates your mind re frittering.....sometimes, we even have a little bit left, which we roll forwards to have extra spends the next month. I don't know whether this would help you or not, but for us, it seems to have stopped the little visits for a tenner here, a twenty there, 'Oh & while I'm here, I may as well take out an extra thirty for next week, etc, etc'.
