Thursday 14th March - what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Morning all. Hope everyone is ok today. Hugs to those that need them.
New gf has been staying for a couple of days which has been lovely, but means I have to get up earlier than normal to take her to the station, as she has the same long distance commute that I used to have until I found a job closer to home recently. She went back home yesterday, but I still found myself waking up extra early this morning  The dog thinks its great though because I now have time to take her on an extra long walk before I need to leave for work.
Today I have/will
Shower using free toiletries
Found a penny on my walk
Reuse some of the wrapping paper from my birthday presents to wrap DS's (it's his birthday tomorrow)
Check online banking (should all be ok, and I'll get paid tomorrow)
Take sandwiches to work
Walk to station
Read free paper
Charge phones at work
Free coffee/water at work
Take carrier bags with me and stop at Aldi on the way home.
Dinner from stores (I've taken some chops out of the freezer and have some potatoes that need using up soon)
Think that's it. Have a great day

Morning all......and it's SUNNY here!!! Pond still frozen at the moment, but still planning to get in there with net & my trusty marigolds to de-gunk it should it thaw sufficiently!
Penny saving activities today:
*Try to mend pond net rather than spend the vast sum of £1.99 on a new one!
*All meals as per March meal plans. Last of the rubber pork for dinner in a big stew.
*Mr foxgloves is interviewing people all day & remembered to take his coffee bags....which should keep him out of Costas.....
*Still using up freebies today...shampoo, conditioner & Clarins foundation...tiny little sample sachet but has done 4 days!
*Did Body Shop online order to get the stuff I couldn't get last week cos our shop has shut down. Good offer on this week. 40% off non-sale items (Offer code is 'EXTRA'), plus an extra 10% off if you are a 'Love your body' member. Offer doesn't apply to the sale stuff, but I still bought a few bits from the sale as I love the Body Butters & there were some for less than half price (£4.50 or £5 instead of £13-00), inc. the cranberry & ginger Christmas ranges which are good for putting away in the present cupboard. In total, I got £47-00's worth of products for £25-92 & as it was all stuff we needed plus a birthday present, I was pleased with that.
Still to do:
*Sow more lettuce seeds plus more free flower seeds as am determined not to get seduced by garden centres this year.
*Check budgets to see if I can pay a year's car tax this month, instead of 6 months. I do begrudge the extra £12-00.
That's it for today, must go & see if that pesky ice is melting.
foxgloves x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 7.7kg/30kg
