speeding up pc - hijack this log

i've followed the steps in the excellent guide for speeding up a pc :beer: i don't have figures for before i started cos i'd already installed a few things on a friend's advice before i found the guide, so i did a couple of steps out of order, but at least i'd been advised to do the right steps

my pc is now much faster (thank you!), but i figured it would be worth posting where i'm at now and see if there's anything else i could do?

only blip i've noticed (which will be totally down to something i've deleted/disabled i'm sure ) is that some pictures/icon graphics don't show any more - eg malwarebytes & amazon mp3 icons, some images on ebay/emails. any ideas what i should switch back on? and, when it's being really huffy, the pc won't recognise that the tv is connected to it (by hdmi cable). it always did previously, so again i'll have done something that stops it from acknowledging a second display. can anyone guess what i've done? i can post more info like what's enabled/disabled for startup if that would help

best results on vista/W7 are obtained by backing up and factory restore, the commit figures aren't important either on a modern machine.

hdmi, no idea, can't imagine anything in the sticky causing it, the instructions are intended to be benign

where did all those trusted zones come from

no didn't suspect any other virus/malware, but can scan if you think good idea.

if it's a dell, very easy to factory restore it and get it into tip top condition if you have a backup drive.

doing this in bits & pieces - life too busy atm! re-did full malwarebytes scan after updating malwarebytes. all looks ok. will move on to next bit later

just scared to do factory restore in case i make a mess of it! i do have everything backed up tho - i use windows backup & backup weekly to wd external hard drive (which is now a bit too small for whatever exciting stuff windows thinks it needs to back up). and i even made the restore dvd i needed to when i got the pc....
