Legoland

Hi, I've never been to Legoland and planning to go w/c 25th March. I'd be grateful if anyone who has been could give me some info and opinions please.

I've read about the Q-bot and essentially it looks like with the regular one I can only reserve one ride at a time That means I'd still have to queue up for the full duration for every other ride? In other words, while waiting for my reserved ride I'll have to be queueing normally at another ride?

Secondly it states that when its my turn to ride and the Q-bot notifies me, I can then go at that time or afterwards. Does this mean I can never be too late for my Q-bot reservation? If so then that's good.

Can a Q-bot be swapped within the family? Each adult takes it in turns to stay and take pics of those on the ride.

My third question, it appears most school holidays start from Friday 29th. I'm hoping that means for the dates I'm aiming for I wouldn't need a Q-bot. Has anyone targeted the week before holidays and found its still busy with the few schools that are off that week anyway?

Question please about the 2 for 1 with rail. It states that rail tickets must be purchased on the day. Surely they mean tickets must be valid for the day? Has anyone purchased their rail ticket in advance valid for the day and used it to get 2 for 1?

I've looked all over this site and cannot see any other special offers or deals. I'd rather save on the tickets so that I can get Q-bots if need be. I hate hate hate queueing. Any known deals out there other than the 2 for 1?

I should mention that I dont have a tesco clubcard as my local is a Sainsburys so I can't take advantage of tesco offers either.

Thanks for reading.

Wouldn't be so sure about the holidays - Bath (and North East Somerset), Wiltshire, and Bristol (the ones near me) all start holidays on 22nd.

Raring to go has an off peak offer that does not include weekends or holidays that allows you to prebook by calling 0871 2825210 and quoting raring2go to get tickets at a rate of £25 and adult and £21.50 a child.

We have Merlin Annual passes and have never purchased the Qbots. We have found the best days to go are ones where rainy days are forecast as their are less people at the park and just wrap up well for the weather and we get lots done with less queuing. My advice would be to get to the park before opening time, as they let people through the turnstills about 20 minutes before the park opens and then wait by the sweet shop barrier until this opens at 10am, do not get the hill train and run to the back of the park, ignoring the smaller rides or rides like the train that take time to get the popular rides done quickly. For example the boating and car schools, laser shooting rides have no queues first thing but may have over an hour queue after midday. Also plan to stay until the park closes as a lot of people head home from 4.30pm onwards so queues get less. Schools in London are breaking up on 28th March and I just looked and see Windsor where Legoland is in is breaking up on 28th so hopefully many other areas locally will be the same if you plan to go the earlier part of the week. I have gone on inset days before and found it quieter, but not as quiet as a rainy day at the weekend or in the holidays.

There is some good information on Qbots on a review page. |it covers parent swapping to take photos and how the Qbots are used to reserve a ride for a family after you have been on a ride.

We have Merlin passes and live an hour and bit from Legoland and far nearer to Chessington. I have not used a Qbot but am pretty sure thatbit says that all members of the party need one how they would hope to enforce this I don't know and doubt they can. However if you don't like queuing then don't go to Legoland in school holidays, weekends are bad enough ! The problem that legoland has is that the rides it has are great and unusual but with the exception of the submarine, the log flume and the rapids the rides do absorb numbers quickly in the summer holidays or a weekend when it's hot 4 or 5 rides in day is not unusual. We avoid school holidays and weekends in July. The Qbot does not mean you spend less time waiting just that you don't have to wait on the line and then when you come to he ride all the poor !!!!!!s that have been queuing for 90 minutes give you daggers and moan.
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time

Incredible useful stuff. This is the best deal (raring2go) that I've found so far. And the Q bot info answers every single one of my questions. For example I wondered why anyone would purchase a Q bot in advance online. Why not wait till you get there and see if it would actually be useful. That review explains that there are a limited number of Q bots available each day.

Based on the useful replies on here, if I use the raring 2 go and attend for one day I'll go early so that if I do need the Q bot they shouldn't have run out. Looks like for about £100 more we could stay overnight in a nice hotel and attend on two days including parking and breakfast so that's a possible option.

    Thank you so somuch.

Thanks v much. I'll avoid those peak times but if we go and love it too much we might go in the summer and will definately use the q-bot!

Thanks for this. Unfortunately this is only valid for the gate price which is £45. Since there are 5 of us (3 adults + 2 kids) that means we'd have to purchase 3 adult tickets which is £135.

The raring to go offer comes up to £118.

    Thanks though
