You are the one giving them all your money, don't forget that. Is a 5000 pound reduction worth being nice?
You and I must have different values, I would say that sticking to an agreement is being decent and trustworthy rather than just being "nice".
If everyone had your attitude nobody would sell a house and an awful lot of people would be out of pocket.....except you of course.
