BA weekend breaks for one person

I have just come back from a BA weekend break (flight and hotel) in Lisbon which I did with a friend. I was very happy with the services provided and felt it was good value. I would like to use them again later in the year but will probably be going as a solo traveller.
I am not sure whether the prices assume that a 2nd person is present so I would be penalised for going alone.
Has anyone booked one of these trips as a solo?

When you book a flight and hotel on ba.com it asks for number of adults and number of rooms. I don't think you will be penalised any more than 2 travellers in separate rooms. Probably dearer than 2 sharing 1 room.0

I regularly do solo weekend breaks with BA and other operators. I was in Prague last weekend and had a great time.
In terms of BA they had a city break sale last month when you could have got some very good deals on flights + hotel. As long as you book for one person flying and one person in the room there shouldn't be a problem. In deals like this there is no "single person supplement", you are just paying the standard rate for the room.0 -

I had a look at the BA City Breaks Sale recently, with a view to a solo holiday in Venice. I found that enquiring for 2 people returned loads of offers, but enquiring for 1 person gave a really reduced list, and the hotels I'd identified as really interesting and in good locations (for 2 people) were never on the 'solo' list ....
Wonder if I was doing something wrong .... or are perhaps older traditional hotels in Venice really not geared up for single travellers and in other places you might fare better ...?
So, OP, will be interested to hear how you get on with this search.
[P.S. Had a great reason for abandoning this search: Got invited by a friend living in Prague to stay with her for a week in June .... Easyjet flights were booked immediately .....!]0 -
I was looking at options for Gothenberg as I have a friend there. It is quite a bit more expensive than the price I paid to Lisbon and the choice of hotels was quite limited for the solo traveller.Tuesday_Tenor wrote: »I had a look at the BA City Breaks Sale recently, with a view to a solo holiday in Venice. Yes, that could be the case. Venice is more of a couples destination. You probably get more joy looking for somewhere more popular with business and independent travellers as they get more solo visitors. Alternatively, just book the flight and hotel separately to get more choice.0
