Talk Talk customer service

I was trying to work out what your problem is maintaining funds in your account to pay the DD. You're complaining about Talktalk, when in fact you're causing the problem yourself.
Trust me, I know about living on a limited income. It involves micro managing your bank account. You are told at least 10 days in advance of the amount to be taken in a DD. You should already have a good idea of the amount due, because of the initial contract you signed.
Don't pay the amunt a second time by card because, as others have said, it's usually too late to cancel the DD at that point. If it goes through again you risk bank charges, and possibly risk having the acount closed on you. (Depending on your bank and the type of account.)
If really too difficult cancel the DD and pay by card, though beware, companies will usually surcharge you for the additional work it entails.0 -
I repeat myself again. I was having a rant at their customer service. Whether or not the fault is mine or theirs - I dont care much now anyway as my own bank sorted it out over the phone in three minutes flat.
I dont need you to point out that I am at 'fault' here - I dont need you to lecture me on how I deal with my finances.
It is not of any concern of yours to 'work out what my problem is in maintaining funds in my account'. I do not need to know how to micro manage my bank account. Its none of your business.
Again, I still think that Talk Talks customer service sticks. The clue to this thread over Talk Talk is in the sentence - Talk Talks customer service. Nothing more nothing less.
So, please do not waste any more of your time trying to work out my financial ins and outs. You are not impressing me with your knowledge of all things on a limited budget. I couldnt care less....0 -
Usual MSE trolling - what a waste of time this forums becoming...

Point 1, they can't immediately refund. All refunds have to be post-processed behind the scenes.
Point 2 has been mentioned- if it was due to come out the next day, why not just wait?
Of course I expect to get a sarcastic answer telling me how unhelpful I am.0 -
Hi
Does anyone out there have any experience of Talk Talks customer service - or lack of it.
I paid my phone bill online and they have taken the same amount out again a day later. I phoned TT tonight and the foreign sounding lady didnt appear to know what she was talking about and kept me waiting 18 minutes.
Then, she said your refund will appear in your bank account in 14 days time. I said that was unacceptable and I wanted the money put back into my account by midnight. She talked over me and didnt listen - as I was pretty annoyed by this stage. She then cancelled the refund request and told me to hold the line. This I did for another 20 minutes. She made it quite clear that she was the supervisor and the manager and anyone senior all rolled into one!! Obviously nothing is going to happen tonight.
This is the first time I have had any problem with them and have never needed any assistance. But they have made a mistake and then say it will be a fortnight before money gets back to me!! It was the last of my money till payday so I need it back asap.
What would anyone else recommend I do. Is there a separate number to ring?
If this continues Talk Talk will be doing the Walk Walk...
Hi I enjoyed reading about your problems with Talk Talk. I had major problems with them myself. Their call centres are rubbish, I equally found them to be exceptional unhelpful. I spend ages on the phone with them with no solution, so ended up putting in an official complaint.
Their chief executives office ended up sorting the manner out. It all eventually ended well after alot of hard work. Each time you called the call centre the service agent told or promised you something completely different. I would advise keeping a note of anything you are told, I did and it was interesting reading. So much information given I even have a file.

Obviously we mustn't let facts get in the way of an unjustified rant!
NB, I'm not saying Talktalk provide decent customer service, let's just save the criticism for when it's justified.0 -
Any problem I have ever had with TalkTalk, and not many over the years, have been sorted by them quickly and, if their fault, usually offer a free upgrade or a few quid of your bill as an apology.0

Thanks to most of you for responding to my posts.
I would just like to say that as a poster on a Praise, Vent or Warning - in my case a rant - I am more than justified in criticizing a company if I feel that I have a reason to.
How can my rant be unjustifiable I will never know.
So, cheers to you all and I hope that pmduks eyesght improves and he/she can proceed from stage 1 of a 7 yr olds reading level, and indeed can understand what someone else is saying without misinterpreting and getting it all wrong - so wrong.0 -
To the OP, see if TalkTalk can put you on a less costly tariff, that way you will have yourself some leg room in your account for any mistakes or errors.
Best wishes :beer:0
