I know that there will always be people who gamble whether Bingo or Casinos.
No matter how poor I am I don't think that I could try & earn money off people who may be going to put their last tenner down, in a desperate attempt to save their home or send their kid on a school trip.
The same way I could never work for Provident or similar, who to me prey on the poor.

If all of your businesses are so lucrative then why are you skint? You mentioned in your OP that you post when skint.

this sounds like a really good idea. Any one able to name some companies that offer this. Might give it a go.

Hope you spell-check your flyers. Your English is more slap-dash than mine and I suffer mental health problems.

Sorry I am sitting here laughing, and I probably should not be as I hate gambling, I hate the ads on the TV and think they should all be banned!

But if this is your idea of making money I will count myself well and truly out thanks. Like someone said I could never prey on peoples door mats with things that can end up losing them everything, no more than I would put a can of lager through a recovering alcoholics door, it just seems very seedy to me.

All leaflets though my door are binned, the odd one may get a glance, and they are half your size, ie postcard size and have a company logo on them that I recognise, ie a language school asking for student host families, a window cleaner advertising himself, or someone doing gardening locally, other than that the rest are mainly take away shops that I would not touch with a barge pole. Even the ones I may glance at as said, mainly end up in the bin, although the window cleaning one did not as my window cleaner just seemed to disappear on me. So one thing out of the hundreds I get through my letterbox each month got a response!

The fact I hate gambling would in fact incense me to phone the paper shop if a paper lad or lass put it in with my local paper and I would ask why they were advertising gambling and having kids delivery such stuff.

:mad:As for the part about the paper boy, sorry that is well out of order, if the paper shop found out he loses his job, not very nice on the young kid, as they are not allowed to put anything other than the paper and the contents it comes with through anyone's letterbox or were you unaware of that fact. Otherwise we could have paper boys and girls sticking !!!!!! in letterboxes could we not!!

I have nothing against bingo halls or the odd flutter on a horse, or going dog racing once every few years as a family outing, they have their place, but to stand outside bingo halls seems pretty awful as well. The internet has it's place but there are some things that would have been better left off it, gambling is one of them for me, and off my TV screen as well. And far from forget the ads there are so many they drive me insane so no I do not forget them, I would actually like to take the government to task to get them reduced or removed altogether.

Sadly it is now all online or on the flaming television, we will end up with a youth of today who think gambling is great, which sadly as many who have lost wives and homes and their families and jobs will tell you it is not and can be a terrible addiction.

So no you can keep this idea for me, and your way of doing it sounds very dubious as well, I am not sure in fact that it is legal, as I do not something about the internet and ran websites for many years, you are actually allowing Joe public to think they are going direct to a gambling site when in fact they are not, I think I would check on the legality of that if I were you first.:rotfl:

  • Is it legal to post flyers through someones door promoting a gambling website? Not saying it is or is not, just wondering so no-one gets into trouble

Does anyone promote anything else by leafleting ? By that I mean health foods, diet meals etc, I am trying to think of something that you can advertise on leaflets, put through doors and if the householder orders it tracks back to you and you get a commission.

I would want to stay away from thethe likes of gambling sites and loan companies etc

Another trick for massive conversions if you can stand the cold and the doormen! is find out when your local bingo hall shuts and hand out the flyers to those leaving it. they may want to carry on playing bingo after the night is out and you are giving them the oppertunity!

I understand this marketplace quite well as I have two free bets websites which have bingo sign ups.

This is an area which has grown the last few years and some of what you've said makes sense, especially about standing outside any bingo hall when people are leaving, as it will be a highly targeted audience although the downside is that, a lot of the people are over 70 and not to savvy when it comes to online bingo.

Getting a leaflet designed with Fiverr - Yes
Getting someone on Ebay to print of several thousand - Yes
Getting a local paperboy to deliver those leaflets - No

Pay your local free newspaper to deliver them inside their paper, it costs about £12 per 1000, but it would be worth it.

Conclusion............... Most people throw away the leaflets inside newspapers, however, approximately one in five have a look, so if you send out 5000 then, around 1000 should read your leaflet and if you get a 1% success rate then, you'll have 10 sign ups and it will be a success.

Try it with your own area first and if it works then, rinse and repeat the process in other areas that have free newspapers in your region and beyond.

    Best of luck in 2013
