  • Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately Moneysavingsupermarket say that cheapenergyclub is run by moneysavingexpert and although mss. own mse. they are run as two individual companies and mss. are not allowed to discuss any issues regarding cec. So you are left with the FAQs on cec. and if your question is not in there you are not going to get an answer.
As I said, good idea, very poorly administered.

    Hi there

I found your email to Cheap Energy Club and it shows we did reply yesterday but I've sent you another email, let me know if you don't get it.

    Thanks

  • Went through all the procedure filling in every detail even using my last years electric bill. I came towards the end put in my landline number and because I do not have a mobile phone said my application could not be completed.

What a waste of time for those who do not have a mobile phone. Any suggestionz:(

    Hi leathertrousers

It's not at all mandatory to enter a mobile number - we give you the option in case you want us to send you text alerts of when you can switch (and only for this). If you don't have a mobile number you just need to leave that part of the form blank (rather than enter a landline number).

    Thanks

  • I have just joined the CEC, and pleaed to note my current contract is unbeatable.

    SUGGESTION
BUT there is no option to enter a contract finish date on the CEC details. This could be used to generate an email giving the best rates at the time when they are most needed.

    QUERY
A quick question - would the ownership of PV panels and entitlement to FIT payments amend the suggested Energy Supplier? (Are all suppliers able to process FIT payments? if not, could I get FIT from a separate supplier?)

All registered suppliers (meaning the Big 6 and several others) have to process FIT's payments whether you are their customer or not. The smaller companies are voluntary and don't have to unless you are their customer. And some others (Ovo for example) are not registered at all.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I'm fully signed up to the CEC and last month (March) was the last on my current EON Age UK Price Protection April 2013 contract. EON kept me informed that they were going to switch me to their standard variable EON Energy Plan.

I'm not clear when CEC is supposed to kick in and say you need to switch. I thought it might be before the contract ended on 31st March. Nothing happened and 1st April arrives with me on a new 'poor' tariff with EON.

So I manually log in to CEC and do a check and find several offers that will save me £££. I have switched to CEC's top pick with EDF (using CEC) as I felt nervous about waiting any longer for the 'automatic' trigger from CEC.

But if it's automatic I shouldn't have to do that manual checking and switching. Could someone clarify? Should I have waited for an email or text?

    Thanks for any help.

  • I have tried to join the Cheap Energy Club twice now - the first time almost 2 weeks ago. I couldn't log in, changed my password etc and still had no luck and, as another poster stated above, I sent an email and got the automated reply telling me to go to the FAQ's. Of course this problem is NOT listed! Gave up as I was going away for a few days and have just tried to join again with a different email address etc, and have exactly the same problem. All I get is the page reverts to the log in page.

Someone tell me what I can do please!
  • I joined the club a while ago logged into my account and wanted to change my usage details , but for some reason it wont let me. If i select to change it simply asks me to log in.

Do i have to delete this acccount and start another?
