Possible but unlikely.

Try this section for all the stains advice that's available without being massively specific, the stuff here will cover almost all problems you can have on dishwasher or laundry stains.

BTW, we don't like Finish tablets much or most others, more hassle than they're worth for the most part the only exception being the Fairy Active Burst as it's powder in a bag, ask almost any appliance repairer and they'll tell you the same thing over and over... powder, rinse aid, salt.

I had this problem too and found that it was being caused by the cutlery being left in the dishwasher for too long after the cycle has finished.

I now always open the door of the dishwasher when the cycle has finished and now don't seem to have the problem anymore.;)
