Switching Suppliers

Options
First post. I am in the process of switching. The company guarantees a hassle free process but not a specific date. I noticed that if I am switched before a certain date I will pay an exit fee to my current supplier. There is nothing wrong with this but you cannot assume that your new supplier will take this into account when switching. Take care.
Current supplier: N-Power Go Fix 10 would change to Go Save S 09/04
New supplier: Scottish Power Fixed Price Energy September 2014.
I contacted Scottish Power and they have agreed to change after 09/04 and commented that they had not received a request like this before. So well done them.
Other options would be to allow the customer to choose a date or change after Go Save S had started but I risk paying extra to N-Power and missing the new deal if it is withdrawn in the meantime.

Exact switch dates cannot be specified. The minimum time is 21 days, so at 27 days you are (probably) just about OK. If the date is advised before the end of your cooling-off period and is too early, cancel and reapply.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
