How much proof to manufacturers need?

I bought a tablet computer from HMV before Christmas, it has developed a fault and I have lost the receipt. The manufacturer has said they will repair it but want an official HMV receipt.
I have provided a till print off of the transaction from HMV, showing the store number, time, date, price, etc... but it does not say HMV on it. I have given them the store managers name and number to varify the details if needed and a letter from the company who issues the high street vouchers to say where the vouchers were spent.
They are still saying this is not enough, am I being fobbed off?
Cheers,
Jase

Unfortunately, as the warranty is over and above your statutory rights, the retailer is well within their rights to insist on an original receipt.
Usually, your best redress would be with the retailer. However, with HMV having gone through administration, you may have no luck. Have you tried approaching this with HMV?0
