Is the rbs basic account any good i think the services are good - can it be upgraded?

It is as good as you're going to get if you are not currently elegable for a full current account.
Just bare in mind that you can only withdraw cash from RBS, Natwest and Tesco Bank branded ATM's, however you are able to set up direct debits and standing orders from the basic current account. Full access to internet banking is provided on the account.
After 6-8 months of good account conduct, you should be able to upgrade to a full current account, but bare in mind that your external credit history will still be taken into account when attempting the upgrade.
It's recomended to carry out the upgrade process in branch rather than online.0 -
