My son has a wii and a DS he hasn't ever connected it to the internet as I do not have wifi in my house,I have a pc with a wired connection in my room upstairs but my son wants to keep playing his Wii downstairs as he has his own lounge area, so I looked on Ebay and and noted a Wii usb wifi connector which comes with a disc, now I'm assuming the signal won't carry downstairs so could anyone advise if I get a long cable and run that from pc to downstairs to close proximity to Wii and connect it to Wii usb wifi connector whether that would suffice and what would be the name of this cable that I would need, also would this wii usb connector work for the Ds too and does the Ds work from the same installation disc as the Wii?Also could you tell me if this is easy to set up or any tips, and will I still be able to use my pc at the same time
Many thanks
I think I will just wire it instead of Wifi could anyone but I dont have ethernet on my pc could I just use usb?

When you say wired, you are talking about broadband right.
Easiest way for you, would to be use something powerline plugs. 2 plugs, one plugs next to your broadband router with short length on ethernet cable from plug to back of router. It uses the electrical wiring in your home as a network cable
Other plug goes downstairs, next to wii then another length of thernet from plug to Wii Lan usb adapter (cant remember if it comes with one), then the adpater plugs into wii.

Wii ethernet adapter (if it does not come with one)

Hi Neilwoods I have an Ntl cable modem would this be my router? It's connected to my pc with usb but it does have an ethernet connection,so could my pc still run by usb and I could use the ethernet port on modem for plugging in ethernet on power line plug at the same time?
Sorry if I'm a bit behind with the times,I'm a technophobe0 -
Hmmm cable modem and using the USB. You may have to phone up your provider then. I do know that on some cable modem that if the usb is used for internet access then the ethernet may not work to access internet.
Your provider would configure the ethernet to allow access, may then need a 4 port switch to get the powerline plugs to work.
Or ask virgin for a new cable router that should have 4 ethernet ports, then can use the powerline adapters.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
Thanks Neil I shall speak to Virgin0
