    When did self service tills start giving cashback? I thought it had to be initialed off? If this is a new thing then great, no need to queue in the normal cashier queue

    It's been happening for years. I remember getting cashback from an Asda self-service machine on my way out on my 18th, and that was 5 years ago! :) very handy!

    After reading this thread I think I would rather queue and be served by a cashier.
