Asda card aplication declined with good credit score

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me why my friend was declined for an Asda card when her credit score is 993?
We can't work out why this would happen.
Thanks
Claire

    Much, much more info needed...

    What is her salary?

    What's her current borrowing level?

Is she on the electoral register?

    In a word, no.

In slightly more words, how on earth can anyone here answer that question? What did the people who provide the Asda card say when she asked them?

Remember...the number that the credit reference agency have given her does not take into account:

    1. Income
    2. Time with employer
    3. Employment type, ie part time, full time, agency, self-employed
    4. Number of dependants
    5. Marital status
    6. Etc
    7. Etc

If you can post up everything her credit report says about her (personal details omitted of course!) people here can have a guess though.

I reckon it's those missing 6 points that have done it...

Could be 101 things and its a sure bet we don't hold a crystal ball on here but with more info I'm sure someone on here could see where the problem could of been.

What is it about a random number that makes her (or you) think that she has a good credit history?

I'm sure Experian gives everyone an excellent score for feel good purposes and moral as many will feel they get a buzz by continually seeing an excellent score therefore keep renewing their membership.

    Oh if only they knew!!

Because they use equifax, wrong score
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
