First Direct no longer provide their nice padded leather credit card and cheque book holders, can't even get a new plastic insert.
If that bothers you bank elsewhere, I hear Lloyds Toytown Savings Bank is very nice.;)
That gum you like is coming back in style.

I was going to say why don't you join Lloyds private banking but you being a first direct customer with their criteria being only 23k I don't think you'll qualify.

Never mind one day if you're lucky you'll bank with the Classy.

classy or not, FD still seems to be unclear as to how you qualify for the £100 switch incentive. Alot of contradiction here as no-one is unable to confirm whether you need a salary of £1.5k to be deposited each month or whether like halifax you can transfer money in as long as it totals or more than 1.5k?

also would i need to transfer my normal salary which is not £1k or £1.5k to gain the incentive?

or can i just transfer an account that has 2DDs and ensure i deposit a total amount of £1.5k each month?

Fund (salary, transfer, whatever) with 1.5K each month until you get your cashback. Easy as that.

    No need to transfer salary.

Just read, and follow, the T&Cs on the FD site. Easy.

What is it and you getting £100 of banks? You've just opened a Halifax account to get the £100 incentive and now you want the FD one. As far as I'm aware they pay the £100 incentive usually after 3 months as they like to see how you operate your account.

You sound like your desperate for money!!!
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

The length people goto for pennies on here is shocking, but then again I have to remind myself this is a moneysaving site aswell.

If someone wants to offer me £100 for 5 minutes work, I'll glad do it also :)

People should read the Ts&Cs and if the agent tells them something different be prepared to argue. When I opened my account a couple of years ago I was told that I would have to use the switching service to get the £125 joining incentive. That was untrue. The Ts&Cs only said that one had to have used the switching service to be eligible for the £100 award if dissatisfied and leaving. I challenged what I was told by the agent by quoting the Ts&Cs and after consulting her manager she admitted that I was right and she was wrong.

The rules have changed since but this illustrates that FD agents may answer the phone quicker but can be no less misleading than agents of other banks.

You'd be able to do it in 5 minutes, so it's a great deal for you and a no-brainer. When someone needs countless posts on Internet forums and doesn't really seem to know what to make of the T&Cs of the provider, or how to look up readily available information elsewhere on the internet, it's no longer a no-brainer.
