Can banks find out more info about a payment eg where it came from ? I thought they had access to that kind of info but the CSA I spoke to says no. The entry says TC , LOAN , FP 06/03/13 2002, so it was done on the 6th as a fast/er payment, not sure what the 2002 is refering too. Been trying to think what it is, checked my other accounts and ive not made a payment from 1 of them.
The amount is also odd, it was for £514.64.
Looks like its been done in error so Ill transfer it to a savings account until its claimed back.

Could it be a rebate on a loan that has finished? I know Nationwide offer 'cashback' on a completed loan....?Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Could TC equal TopCashback or something like that?
I'd be on guard for fraud if I were you.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Advise your own bank in writing that you do not recognise this payment and ask that it be investigated.0 -

As above yes good point. Ill get onto my bank asap. At least I would get it solved.
On the phone again to the bank, got a more helpful advisor.0 -
Ah yes I believe ive sorted it, it wasnt a fraudulent payment or 1 made in error, I had a savings account with Sainsbury's and the amount payed in is from the savings a/c. Was just a bit odd no other info was available, completely forgot I'd closed the account and transfered the money.0
