1471 - we do not have the callers number to return the call??
We have a BT phone that can block calls with no number I have resisted the temptation to activate for a while but yesterday whilst attempting to work at home I got 14 calls from dubious sources all purporting not to be selling anything. Enough to make me activate the call bar.
Just tagging on to say that my 1471 message tells me when a caller withheld their number, so it's likely your caller is an autodialler from overseas, Danielle.
Any time I pick up the phone and theres no-one replies to my first "hello" I just put the phone down. It happens regularly - I also put the phone down if I get a call which starts with "am I speaking to the householder" or "am I speaking with Mrs full name and middle name balletshoes". I didn't solicit any of these companies to call my home number, so I don't feel the need to communicate with any of them.
