How long does it take to build a consevatory start to finish?

We have a very good quote for a conservatory, which we are going to take up. However, the build time from start to finish is only about four weeks. One week to lay the concrete base and wait for it to go off, then build the dwarf wall in week two, and assemble the conservatory and finish off in weeks three and four. My wife is delighted it will only take a month, but I am thinking that the time for the base to go off is a little short. My only basis for this thought is my dad got a conservatory last year and his supplier left the base for a month before starting to build, although his was done in Autumn rather than spring (if this makes a difference?).

Ours went up in 10 days from start to finish excluding tiling the floor, although we didn't have a dwarf wall & did it ourselves so we didn't waste a second. Going off time for the base was 6 days in early summer.

Concrete of those proportions doesn't need a month. It's common practice in the building industry for builders to have more than one job on the go at a time. So afer laying the foundations they can go away and do another 2 or 3 whilst waiting for the first to set.0 -
A neighbours conservatory took about 3 months to finish.
It really depends on how lazy your builder is and how many other jobs he has on the go already.
There are too many factors involved to give accurate calculations on how long it will take.If only everything in life was as reliable...AS ME !!

You could work on a concrete base 48 hours after it's been laid, the timescale your fitters have given you seems reasonable0

Thanks everyone.0

Concrete will cure to reach its full strength after 28 days. However, it is perfectly acceptable to work on it after 7 days and often before that as long as it is treated with respect.0

We had one built completely in 4 weeks including interior. We had a local tradesman and he did a fantastic job, whereas our neighbours had supposedly cheapo DIY store ones, which took months and weren't as good. Have you seen any of his other work or references? Worth their weight in gold.0

Yes, it is from a recommendation and I have seen one he did - very nice and the owners a very happy with it. He is only a local tradesman, but the quote is £1700 cheaper than the next best. In fact, we made it even bigger with the saving. Quote for a 3.6mx4m square Edwardian style was £7000, quote for a 5.3mx4m double-Edwardian L-shape is £9000 (woodgrain on white).0
