Closing my Ebay Account

Hi Guy's,
This is a tricky one. I've been using Ebay for years (both personally & professionally) and my private account has now been restricted due to low DSR's on P&P.
Ebay have buried their heads in the sand and all conversations fall on deaf ears. I simply said enough is enough, I'll close my account to which they replied "No you want, our T&C's wont allow it until your account is in good standing again. If you close your restricted account you will simply open a new account that has no restrictions". I have this in writing!!!!!
Is there some legal statement I can make to them that will encourage them to close my account?

They have never allowed a poor account to be closed as it means you could officially open another immediately.Hi Guy's,

eBay do not allow you to sell on any other account to get round issues with restrictions, so by leaving those accounts opens it basically means they tie you in with the no other trading rule.
Change your credit card to one that is due to expire soon to protect yourself against any lax in your security, and just walk away from eBay. Eventually the account will be suspended and you will technically then no longer be ale to use eBay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Oh and just remember that if you allow your account to be suspended then any other account will be in danger as well, so if it sell professionally under any other name that account will be lost too.
The expanded seller dashboard thread basically tries to warn users against this scenario by getting any minor issues sorted before they lead to restrictions.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No it won't.
The DSR's are calculated as a percentage of your sales. If you just sit back and wait for them to disappear, the situation will get worse and will result in the account being suspended indefinitely (usually for life). As Soolin says, this also affects anyone else in the household who has an Ebay selling account.
The only way to water them down and avoid suspension is sell as much as possible. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Not sure what all the exclamation points are about, their response makes perfect sense to me. Why do you want to close it anyway, just stop logging in if you don't want to use Ebay any more.0 -

What are the terms of the "restrictions"? Can you still sell but at a restricted volume? If so, why not just list low value items with free P&P until the DSRs improve (may take a while if the amount you can sell is restricted, but P&P is one of the easier stars to improve as you get an automatic 5* rating with free P&P). The low stars will drop off after 12months, if the account isn't permanently restricted before then. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0
