A&L better do something about it's 5.80%AER DirectSaver or else come 1st June there's going to be a lot of people closing their accounts. Same goes for the HSBC 5.75%AER Online Saver which wasn't that competitive in the first place given the penalties attached.

Kazza: Are you going to make another thread detailing all the rates that have changed?

Probably not, as Paul Herring and Mr Mumble seem to have it covered. Though I will be posting individual threads on bank/building society savings rate increases, like I've done following the previous three BOE base rate rises.

    According to Moneyfacts:

Icesave's rate increases from 5.70% to 5.95% from May 18th.

Thisismoney's Has your savings rate increased? article wrongly states that Icesave's rate will increase to 5.90%.

Thats only an increase of 0.2% because Icesaves rate is 5.7%.

There is nothing stated on Icesaves site at the minute. It may well give us the full quarter point and go up to 5.95% :D:D:D

It now states it will be 5.7% to 5.9%. Any Increase is good really as long as they remain above their guarantee and stay competitive.

It will be interesting to see how quickly other institutions respond, and what their increases will be. I suspect that even if ING increase their rate by the full .25%, they've already lost credibility with all the canny savers. We have a 6 monthly websaver account with them and when it matures next month it will be moved to ICESAVE.

I know I saw that thisismoney had corrected their posting to 5.70% a few minutes ago. I'm hoping that Moneyfacts have got this right, their information is usually reliable.

This Article On thisismoney says it will go up to 5.95% so it looks likely that will be the change but we will still got to wait until Icesave update their website. :D:D:D
