O/S Daily Tuesday 12 March 2013

Options
O/S Daily Tuesday 12th March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

Very cold here, And we are having a light snow shower,

Not too bad a night really. I did not get up until 4:00am. been I my chair In the dark with the radio since then. Oh Plus Iv had two cats! Don't normally get the two sat on me together, But I had to shift both of them in order to sit down. They don't normally sleep next next each other, Not since they were kittens anyway. Strange animals cats are.

Plan for today is to phone the doctors, And get my wrist looked at.
I really should have gone last week. And I did have very good plans to.
I shall ask if there is anything I can do about these sleeping patterns too.
I have tried taking the steroids early. I'm Taking my last dose at 4:00pm now. But that dose not seem to change anything.
    Will Ask about it anyway.

Twin one should be find for school today. I'm not sure about twin two. She might have to have another day off.

Well I hope that you all have a great day.

Keep warm and If you have snow keep safe.

    :j:j

    Morning!
:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laugSNOW!!!!! Sussex is completely gridlocked. Some people on the A23 and M23 have been stuck for 12 hours or more:eek::eek:
Listened to the radio at various times in the night. One poor lady who left work at Gatwick to get home to Brighton. It normally takes her 45 minutes, she was still on the A23 12 hours later:eek:
We have been told to stay in, as more snow is predicted.
I was going to do a mystery shopping job tonight, not now!:rotfl:
Trains are still running, but no buses. All schools are shut too.

Have frozen cassoulet that I made for DD. Having mine tonight instead!

Porridge and blueberries for breakfast this morning.

Halight get that wrist seen to.

    Stay warm everyone.

snow is falling here in north Kent and I'm not looking forward to the school slither this morning.Bitter cold as well,I may walk it instead of taking the car,bit longer, but probably a bit safer. Just looked out at the front and cars are sliding around all over the roads. No sign of gritters at all in fact haven't seen one anywhere in Rainham, not even on the main roads.
Not a pleasant day ay all.
    Take care everyone

    Morning all,
It snowed here y/day but it's melted thank goodness, still very cold, oh when will it get warmer ?
Plans today, take DGD2 to Playschool then shop for fruit & veg, need some more flour for hungry BM. I took some diced steak out of the freezer last night to make a steak & mushroom plate pie. I love salad but can't even think about having one as we need hot comfort food in this weather. JACKIO do be carefull on the school run. Are you sure it will be open?
Vacume needs to be run round downstairs and I must tackle the mountain of ironing, I'll do that in front of the tv and catch up with Stella, love that series.
HALIGHT, at long last you're going to the DR. Let us know how you get on.
((hugs )) Lamewolf, keep poping in hun.

    Morning everyone

Halight - good that you're going to go to the Docs x

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Blue sky and sunshine, no new snowfall but bitterly cold here this morning.

DH up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was a bit disjointed, I got both boys fed before I took DS1 to his college interview, looks like he's going to be offered a place on the course his wants. They had jacket potato, sausages, egg and beans. I had jacket potato, trout and veg - have never cooked trout at home before but was absolutely delicious and that's another item used up out of the freezer. I then cooked DH egg, bacon, sausage etc and he went to collect DS1 from the college after his interview. Tonight dinner will be fish, chips/jacket, beans/veg - unfortunately a bit similiar to last night's meal but hairdresser is coming tonight and I'm being re-blonded as well as then cutting all the menfolk's hair, so need something that needs little attention and is reasonably quick.

Work yesterday was not a manic Monday but we'd had snowfall overnight - then throughout the day it would go dark and have a real snow storm that would last several minutes and then stop - it was like this all day. Telephones were quite busy as I was helping out with that in the afternoon. As we now have no new snowfall and no more forecast and the fact that council tax bills are hitting the mats - we're going to be busy! At least it makes the days go quickly!

Stay safe for those that are getting/may get snow!

    Keep safe and well x

Morning all. Another bitterly cold one here, the snow from yesterday is still lying but it doesn't look as if we've had any added to it. :T

Breakfast of porridge then slither to work. It's supposed to be the WI Darts Tournament tonight but I'm just waiting to find out if it's still on or not - if you accidentally stab someone with an errantly-thrown dart would it still be classed as assault? :o

Tea will be leftover spag bol that I stashed in the freezer.

It's like a Chinese laundry in our house at the moment - the tumble dryer broke at the weekend so we have clothes hanging from every available space. I'm tempted to not replace it and get an airer instead - thinking of the money we'd save. Mr Save won't hear of it, so we're waiting for the part to arrive.

Made £25 in ebay sales last night and quite. Few more are due to close tonight, so fingers crossed on those! :D

Stay safe everyone, and Get Well wishes to halight :)

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
