Cheque to a former name?

A regular saver is due to mature, except the Mrs took it out before we were married. All her accounts are now in her married name except this one.
When they send a cheque out for the balance, it'll be marked up her old name.
Question: can she still cash this cheque in at her bank, or would she need to take in some ID for this as the name on the cheque will be different to the name on the account?

Does the RS pay into esaver or the like? Then just FP to another a/c.
If not just take Marraige Cert to her Bank. Job done.

I've paid in a few cheques that were in my maiden name using my marriage certificate. Apparently it's common. That was with lloyds and nationwide have allowed it as well.0

It is quite common. Marriage certificate should be fine, or if they have some record of her in her maiden name they may be able to look at that (for example if she had the account before she was married and then changed her name with the bank).
All this depends on the amount and is at the discretion of the accepting bank though. I'd imagine the value of an interest cheque for a regular saver would be OK.urs sinserly,
