British Gas - Click Energy - Meter reading updates?
Hi,
Is anyone else having trouble getting online meter reading inputs for Click Energy working?
I have entered meter readings for the past two months on the website and it says "It will be updated within 5 working days".
The trouble is they never seem to get updated when I check the consumption page on the billing screen. They used to update within a few hours automatically. Its like they have disabled some automatic update now and have to do it manually and just do not bother.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Mike

BG website billing is down again :rolleyes2
" We're sorry, but the 'manage your bills' area is currently unavailable due to necessary maintenance work.
In order to provide you with the very best experience, we are upgrading our website. While this happens the facility to pay and view bills may be unavailabe. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience. Normal service will resume shortly."
I suppose they must get it right one day.
As to Click2, they are taking 6 weeks to input data to accounts because " it has to be done manually for each account"ac's lovechild0 -
I submitted a meter reading in March and again on the 4th May.
My account shows a string of estimated readings.
I sent a secure message. It was ignored.
:rolleyes:My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
fwiw, when I enquired to BG about switching to Click2 a few weeks ago, about what they did with meter readings if they were submitted monthly, they told me any readings submitted online are stored for information only - it isn't used to generate a bill. They said they only ever issue a bill every quarter which I took to mean was likely to be an estimate, based on most recently submitted reading, or from an actual meter man provided reading.
They did add that if you gave them a reading over the phone, then a bill based on the reading will always be issued within a couple of days.
If what BG told me is correct, it all sounds a bit backward to me for a so-called 'online' managed account.
I decided to remain with Scottish Power online in the end when I heard they were finally going to reduce their prices. When I submit a meter reading online once a month, a bill is generated within a few seconds, and the amount from the new bill is taken off my account balance which I try to keep in credit.0 -
Lo all,
dc. that website is https://www.house.co.uk I assume, I am talking about https://www.clickenergy.co.uk. I can access the site fine, look at my bills etc and interact with them. It even lets me enter meter readings, they just never appear!
fay, yep same here, it used to work fine for my montly meter reading inputs.
bill, what they told you is true. I submit meter readings each month and they are stored online under "View Detailed Bill" > "view consumption history". Maybe if you have not had a bill yet you cannot see this yet.
For the last year I have been diligent and kept my meter reading upto date and its been always viewable in the above screen. Its usually updated within 2 or 3 hours of me inputing it. What I am saying is now I input my meter reading and it NEVER appears here. Luckily my last bill was based of a manual reading by a meter reader who came to my house.
BG generate bills each quarter and these readings provided avoid the old "estimated bill" syndrome. So its definately worth doing it, when its working.
I am hoping that because the house.co.uk site is being updated this is the problem, maybe they are linked. It will be a complete farce if I cant update my meter reading online on the https://www.clickenergy.co.uk website anymore.
Cheers,

Hi sorry I didnt realise there was a seperate ClickEnergy siteEven though I signed up th Click2 on 15th March, they have still not got round to updating my account, " due to pressure of work caused by "success" of Click2"
House is back up, however they have been updating it for 9 months now and each "improvement" has not been so ( so far).
They have lost consumption histories in the updates to House, so maybe the same IT "improvers" have moved in on the Click site.
BTW I clicked on your link and decided to bookmark it for when my account is sorted. However it would not be bookmarked, so I went to logon link and Windows came up with this ---

Does anyone on Click Energy know if online meter reading entries are getting processed properly now?
Thanks.0 -
Anyone tried recently? I will be trying to enter a reading on the 1st of June and will report back if it gets there on the old click energy website....0

Tis working now, for anyone who is interested....0

Now presumably all on B Gas site, https://www.britishgas.co.uk/
however for me err NO.
How does BG manage to coke things up so much?
I Signed up March 15th to Click2, got confirmation email, got £20 from Qudco in my pocket, however April bill showed me on standard tariff.
CS said it was due to demand and would be corrected with refund on next bill.
Paperless July bill arrives in post???? billed as standard tariff. :rolleyes2 :rolleyes2
Here we go again on the CS merry-go-round.
Wish I had changed all my accounts to Ebico, forget the "moneysaving", ...... err but wait I haven't received a 3rd quarterly bill from Ebico on the accounts I changed last August. Dont tell me they are employing the same "IT experts as BG?" :sad:ac's lovechild0
