Hey, i'm new here and have a quick question, apologies if this is either the wrong place or posted before.
I'm living alone so on a budget, and fancied making minted chicken/beef (don't like lamb), i love mint sauce and other meats, just not lamb lol, anyway, what would be the best way to mint my meats and what meat would be best/turn out best?

Get plain yoghurt and add undiluted mint sauce and perhaps some ground cumin. Marinade chicken drumstix and then roast. Bit like tandoori but without the chilli. Don't know if beef would work.0

Beef, yoghurt and mint isn't a combination I've considered before, but I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work. It sounds a bit Mediterranean/North African, so maybe on skewers and with some cous-cous ...
OP, as you're on a budget, cheap supermarket budget brand yoghurt and mint sauce should be OK.
However, keep an eye on the fresh herbs and, if any mint is price reduced, snap it up and make some of your own. A recipe is available on request.
Of course, if there is any way that you can grow your own mint, in a big pot or even a window box ...If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

A sandwich shop near where I used to work used to do minted chicken tikka and it was delicious! I imagine they just did a normal tikka marinade with some mint added in (in other words, plain yoghurt, tandoori masala spice, chilli and some added mint, leave to marinate for a few hours than cook on skewers on a high heat until cooked through)0

I got some beef and some mini chicken fillets today from work (Get discount on them so a bit cheaper). just gotta pick up some mint sauce now and the yoghurt.
I'm going to try these recipies but was thinking more along the lines of just mint sauce not minted yoghurt (have this dipping sauce also in fridge), i was originally thinking more along the lines of when you buy minted lamb chops etc, so just thin mint sauce? if that makes sense?

When you buy minted chops (or BBQ chicken, or Chinese chicken etc) from the butcher's, a lot of them use a dried glaze - something like these http://www.flavait.co.uk/ (brother in law was a butcher which is how I know
- but obviously they buy them in big 1kg tubs) My local Morrison sells the sachets and Home Bargains had the Chinese one not so long back. I can't remember how much they are, but less than £1 each. I've tried the minted one, and tbh wasn't keen, so I made my own with "neat" mint sauce a little honey and some tomato puree. Mine was much better
I really like the Chinese glaze though - it's a great marinade for chicken and I tend to put a little in what we call our "red" stir fry.

Mint goes really well with almost anything.
Instead of the traditional basil Italian try substituting it to mint for a bit more of a Greek feel.
White beans tomatoes n mint crackin.
Couscous - mint, chilli, cucumber and raw onion.

I'm not sure about using mint sauce because of all the vinegar?
I often just use dried mint, a good shake of it goes with anything.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

fresh mint can be chopped and put straight onto meat. or pounded with olive oil in a pestle and mortar and used as a marinade. fresh mint is sold in supermarkets and most greengrocers will stock it too.
I like the jar mint mixed with mayo as a condiment! great as a dip too.
you can also use cream cheese instead.0 -
Thanks all for all the wonderful ideas, im definately going to try them all lol ... i love mint. I bought a pack of fresh mint leaves yesterday so i'm going to start giving these recipes a go over the weekend i think
