    I know!!!
And to think I was only ever an afternoon of hard work away from feeling a whole load better!!

    On a separate note:
Had to laugh last night when darling partner arrived at mine with two hot water bottles (classy Zebraskin covers!!?!?!) instructing me to take the electric blanket off the bed as we were now officially MoneySaving!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Well good news this morning! Postie has just been with three - yes three! - fabulous cheques totalling £753!!!

Just been into town and paid them into my account, so I can transfer them across to the credit card. Halifax were going to take 5:eek::eek::eek: days to clear them. That's a bit much isn't it, especially in this day and age! What are they doing? Transferring it across tuppence at a time???
So it got paid into Natwest where i can get my hands on it now!!!

Will wait until tomorrow before I transfer it just to let the online balances catch up with themselves.

That's all the "easy money" accounted for now! It's going to get harder from this point but I've made a satisfying start!!

  • I do love a new diary. You're doing really well so far and just think if those cheque hadn't arrived you would be down £775 instead of almost breaking even!

Good luck on your journey. i find that writing in my diary each day keeps me on track and helps with the motivation.

Paying off the £753 from the Halifax CC this afternoon, plus another £62 I found in an old savings account with Lloyds. Can't save if I've got debts!!! :naughty::naughty::naughty:

Virgin took their minimum payment DD this morning too so thats another £25 off their balance.

    HOWEVER!
Our planned trip to Rome at the beginning of April has just been clobbered thanks to his Holiness being chosen before I was ready to book! Wasn't quite quick enough with booking the hotel and of course the prices have gone up! :eek:Sister works for Best Western though so still managed to get 15% off:dance::T:dance: with their Family & Friends rate. Opted for the slightly more expensive option as they throw in breakfast AND minibar! Would have been churlish not to!!:D:D:D

Updating status in a bit. Should look good, but all the "easy" money has been thrown at the cards now. It'll get harder from here on in!!

Just taken some haddock and a lamb steak out of the freezer so that's tomorrow's meals sorted. No expensive visits to the butchers for me!!

Using up all the old stuff in the freezer is quite good fun - had a good rummage and there's lots of stuff I'd forgotten I had, including a HUGE bag of "fish pie mix" from Bury fishmarket.

  • Just come back from ASDA having spent £70.62. Popped it onto the Lloyds CC but will pay it off from my current a/c. That can be this month's "minimum payment" until I can drum up some more cash to throw at it.

Cupboards are all full now so hoping not to spend any more money on food (other than milk, fruit & veg) until end of March.
