Answerphone which beeps when new message left?

I need to buy a new answerphone. Ideally I would put it by the front door where I woud see it when I come in but don't have a phone point there. So I am looking for an answerphone that continues to beep when a message has been left and not picked up. The technical term is, apparently, 'Audible Message Alert'. Does anyone know of an answerphone with this functionality please? Would have to be able to add another couple of phones too. Thank you.

I would suggest the bulk of them do as all the ones I ever used did, and could also be turned off. Just ask the question of any that take your fancy, and if it doesn't - you have the perfect reason to return it.

Thanks for the reply, Buzby. The funny thing is that I have been looking at specifications and hardly any have that function listed. It could be that they do have it but don't list it if all yours have had it. Have found one on the BT Shop site. Surprisingly, I saw a message from a Panasonic representative in reply to a question that none of the Panasonics have it now. I don't see why you would take it away when it can be turned off.

I have to agree it's a most useful function.

I have three OneTel 8500 DECT trios and the 'chirp' every 15 seconds from the base station when there's an un-listened-to message is invaluable. It's loud enough to be a good incentive to listen (and that can be done from the base station or any handsdet) but not loud enough to be annoying if you have something else more important to do first.

Unfortunately the OT8500 is no longer manufactured (it was good enough for me to regularly search Ebay to get the second set and to then do the same again to get a third as a spare).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Still struggling to find anything. It seems really odd to me as it seems such an obvious need.

I think the BT freestyle 65 has an audible message alert.

The Truecall unit, which also doubles as a TAM and junk call filtering system also beeps until stored messages are listened to. ,
