SANTANDER - probably the worst customer service in the world

Was the application done in a branch? Online ? Or over the phone?
Online. As way of update, we are still waiting on Customer Complaints to contact us. My husband received a text welcoming him to SANTANDER and advising him to activate his card. I can only assume this means another card is on it's way - probably still to the wrong address.

I'm having the same thing, opened an account with Santander, never had a Santander or Abbey account before.
Santander sent me a change of address form, presumably because I had an old building society account years ago, Alliance and Leicester but I have no idea what the address was as I was a student then and moved around. It had no money in it.
They won't tell me by email or phone what the address is that I should put in the "old address" field. They tell me I should go into a branch. But I know that if I do the customer assistants won't have a clue either, and the whole point of opening an account online was so that I didn't have to go into branch and queue for ages.
I concur with your assessment of Santander customer service.0
